Weight mismatches should not be allowed, these are strictly the promoters of a show looking for fight that will end with someone getting hurt. When weights are matched well the risk for serious injury is decreased. However, to the untrained observer/fan the fight may appear boring, the untrained observer wants to see blood.

I have witnessed many fights where I wondered if the judges score button was broken or if they mixed up the colours of the fighters. I tell my fighters to assume that the judges and officials have a bias and that they simply cannot win a fight, they must dominate it. They must not give the Judges any reason whatsoever to hand a fight to the other competitor.

The reality is that MMA sports will evetually push Boxing to the side if Boxing continues to be run the way it is at both the Amateur and Professional levels. The only thing that is keeping boxing alive is that it is an Olympic sport and there is affordable insurance available. Once MMA is included in the Olympics and insurance is available Boxing will become a sideshow if things continue as is.
